Bayo is a serial entrepreneur with almost 30 years post-education experience, including over 15 years’ experience in the downstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry. Shortly after his tertiary education in the United Kingdom, Bayo returned to Nigeria and worked at a private bank, Mutual Trust Savings and Loans Limited following which he joined the Yinka Folawiyo Group in 1996. He has since worked in multiple business units within the Group with a track record of operational and financial success. He was actively involved at different periods in some of the companies, namely Folawiyo Fisheries Limited, Folawiyo Farms Limited and Nispa Cement. He is also a member of the board of directors of several companies in Nigeria spanning finance, renewable energy and real estate.
Bayo was a Co-Founder and Director of Enyo Retail and Supply Limited contributing at board level to the expansion of the business. He is an Executive Director of Folawiyo Energy Limited where he exercises direct oversight of the company’s COO and supervised the construction of a world-class petroleum products storage facility located in Apapa Port, Lagos. The facility was commissioned in 2006 and at its peak handled significant volumes of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in the Nigerian energy market.
Bayo earned a B.Sc. in Economics/Agric. Economics (Upper Second) from the University of Reading and MSc. in Development Economics from the University of Kent, Canterbury.
Bayo is a member of The Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD).
He is an avid sports enthusiast and active member of the Lagos Polo Club, Ikoyi Club Lagos, Apapa Boat Club and Lagos Jet-Ski Club.
