Lanre is a seasoned Investment Professional with close to Two (2) decades’ experience spanning Pension and Non-Pension Asset Management, Project/Infrastructure Finance, Credit, Product Development, Alternative Investments, Investment Banking and Business Strategy.
He started his career in Investment Management and Research with Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers (SIPML), where he spent more than 12-years. While at SIPML, he managed assets under management in excess of N2trillion. He also managed the Company’s alternative investment activities covering private equity and infrastructure fund investments. He joined Stanbic IBTC Asset Management (SIAML) in 2018 to head the Equities Unit, to pioneer the establishment of the Alternative Investments Unit, and subsequently became the Head of Investment Management Department with responsibility for more than N850billion worth of assets under management.
In this role, he had oversight covering 16 Collective Investment Schemes registered with the SEC and close to 100 discretionary/segregated investment portfolios. His last role in Stanbic IBTC was Senior Vice President, Stanbic IBTC Infrastructure Fund, where he led the initiative for the establishment and take-off of the Fund. The scope of his responsibilities with the Fund included deal origination, due-diligence, negotiations, execution as well as managing relationships with project sponsors and investors.
Lanre left Stanbic IBTC in October 2023, to establish Finserve Investment Limited, a boutique firm with businesses covering Lending, Securities Trading, Investment Banking and Advisory, Consulting and Asset Management.
Lanre is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Sponsored Individual and has been a part of industry-wide initiatives such as the Capital Market Master Plan 2014, where he led the Market Competitiveness Work Group. He also worked extensively with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) in 2014 to develop the NGX Pension Index. He served on the Executive Committee of the Fund Managers Association of Nigeria (FMAN), where he chaired the Technical & Enlightenment Committee between 2020 and 2022. He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Directors.
Lanre is a graduate of Economics from Bowen University, Osun State and has a Masters’ Degree (distinction) in Business and Management awarded by University of Essex, United Kingdom.
